Press Release
The Aachenerschwimmverinung 06 (ASV06) will be hosting one of the fastest short course swimming events in Europe. This year is the 40th anniversary of the "International Swim Festival powered by Arena" (ISF). The feedback has been phenomenal. Not just teams from The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany have registered but other top international teams as well. Participants also include athletes from Ireland, Sweden and Greece with at least 6 national team swimmers amongst them. The groundwork has been laid for many national as well as international records to be made or broken.
German athletes will also be on a hunt for medals. The fast water at the pool, Osthalle in Aachen, will showcase two-time World Champion Silver Medalist, Daniela Samulski, and World Champion Gold Medalist, Hendrik Feldwehr, as well as many of the other world class athletes who recently participated in the World Championships in Rome. The International Swim Festival powered by Arena from October 23 to the 25th can guarantee exciting and fierce competition at the highest levels.
History of the ISF
For years the ISF has been one of the top short course swimming events in Europe. Last year alone, the ISF started 13 Olympians, 3 of whom won gold medals in Beijing. The ISF takes place at the beginning of the short course season. Many athletes use the ISF to qualify for the European Championships in December. Every year, countless participants from Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg continue to attend 'our ISF', as named by our volunteers, establishing itself as one of the biggest short course events in European swimming.Facts and Dates
